Bonds Ellis Eppich Schafer Jones LLP Welcomes Austin Frost, Expanding Firm’s Corporate and Oil & Gas Practices
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE | JULY 9, 2026

HOUSTON, TEXAS — Bonds Ellis Eppich Schafer Jones LLP is pleased to announce that Austin Frost has joined the firm, strengthening its corporate practice with more than 17 years of experience advising businesses on sophisticated transactions, commercial agreements, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and complex legal matters across the oil and gas industry and beyond.
Frost brings a unique combination of private practice, in-house counsel, and providing executive business counsel to Bonds Ellis. His practice will focus on transactional matters, with an emphasis on oil and gas transactions, mergers and acquisitions, commercial contracting, purchase and sale agreements, corporate governance, and strategic business transactions for clients across the energy sector and a broad range of industries.
“Few attorneys have Austin’s combination of legal expertise and real-world business experience,” said Joshua Eppich, a founding partner of Bonds Ellis. “Having served as outside counsel, in-house counsel, and a trusted legal advisor to business leaders, he understands how clients evaluate risk, seize opportunities, and make strategic decisions. His experience will be an incredible asset to our clients and our firm.”
A graduate of Brigham Young University, Frost earned his Juris Doctor, with distinction (cum laude), from the University of Iowa College of Law, where he served as a student writer for the Iowa Law Review.
He began his legal career with Haynes and Boone LLP in Houston, representing financial institutions and energy companies in commercial transactions, mergers and acquisitions, corporate matters, and complex finance transactions.
Frost went in house in 2012, working for two of the most active exploration and production companies in the US and Africa, where he served as lead counsel for multiple business units across the company’s domestic operations. In those roles, he advised on acquisitions and divestitures, land and real estate transactions, commercial contracts, EPC agreements, technology transactions, water resource matters, regulatory issues, marketing contracts, and day-to-day operational legal support. He also played a key role in developing a midstream affiliate and guided the company through the de-SPAC process. He also has multiple years of dispute and litigation management in the oil and gas sector, managing a large litigation docket of commercial and securities litigation, labor and employment matters, and state and federal regulatory inquiries.
Most recently, Frost served as Assistant General Counsel for Buc-ee’s, where he led commercial contract drafting and negotiations, advised on mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and helped implement innovative technology solutions for contract lifecycle management.
“I’m excited to join Bonds Ellis because of its reputation for providing practical, business-focused legal counsel,” said Frost. “Throughout my career, I’ve enjoyed partnering with business leaders to solve complex challenges and help organizations grow. I look forward to bringing that experience to our clients and helping them achieve their business objectives.”
Based in Houston, Frost has been married for 25 years, and together he and his wife are raising six children. Outside the office, he enjoys playing a wide variety of sports—especially pickleball—coaching his children’s teams, and spending time with his family.
Austin’s addition reflects Bonds Ellis’ continued investment in expanding its corporate, transactional, and energy law capabilities while providing clients with attorneys who combine sophisticated legal knowledge with practical business experience.
