Bonds Ellis Eppich Schafer Jones LLP is pleased to welcome veteran appellate and litigation attorney Matt Stayton. In joining the firm as a partner, Matt adds depth and experience to the firm’s appellate, business litigation, and oil and gas practice areas, strengthening the firm’s ability to assist clients in a wide variety of matters.
Matt has argued cases before the Supreme Court of Texas, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and appellate courts across Texas. He also possesses extensive trial court experience. This rare combination allows Matt to put his clients in a position to succeed at each stage of the dispute.
Matt has been repeatedly recognized as a “Super Lawyer” by Texas Monthly magazine. He previously served the local bar as Chair of the Tarrant County Bar CLE and Appellate committees. Matt also taught as an adjunct law professor in 2014. Matt began his legal career as a law clerk for Chief Justice Rex Davis of the Tenth District Court of Appeals in Waco, Texas. He later joined a large Texas-based law firm as a partner in the appellate and litigation practice groups. Matt earned his J.D. from Texas Tech University School of Law and received his B.A. from Baylor University.
