CHRISTIAN ELLIS is a founding partner of the firm and has spent the last twenty-four years helping clients solve difficult and complex legal problems, both inside and outside the courtroom. Mr. Ellis’s clients come from a wide array of industries, including construction, oil and gas, manufacturing, real estate development, and the non-profit sector. He has successfully represented his clients in both state and federal courts and in arbitrations, having tried numerous cases to successful verdict and resolving hundreds of cases to the satisfaction of his clients.

Mr. Ellis is a strong, creative, and aggressive business litigator, representing a multitude of companies to solve some of their biggest legal issues. He is skilled in both resolving disputes and, when necessary, advocating for his client through trial. Mr. Ellis represents a wide array of companies in Texas and across the United States, across many different industries and specialties. He regularly appears in the boardroom and the courtroom, using his skills of diplomacy, negotiation, advocacy, and persuasion to reach positive results for his clients.

Within the construction arena, he represents owners, design professionals, general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers in cases involving construction defects, design errors, delay claims, cost overruns, lien and bond claims, and bid disputes. He regularly drafts construction contracts for owners, contractors, and suppliers, and consults clients entering into construction contracts with upstream and downstream entities.

Mr. Ellis’s oil and gas experience includes representation of clients in production disputes, construction claims, EPC contract claims, claims involving pipelines, and mineral liens.

He has represented manufacturers involved in products liability claims, intellectual property claims, and theft of trade secrets. Mr. Ellis also represents numerous non-profits in a wide variety of matters, including non-profit strategies, construction, leases, and other issues facing these clients.

Mr. Ellis’ recent trial and arbitration verdicts include:

  • $1.735 million verdict on behalf of a contractor in a federal court trial involving property damages from a pipeline explosion
  • $4.5 million verdict on behalf of an owner for fraud scheme on a construction project
  • Multi-million-dollar settlement after eight days of trial regarding an owner’s right of payment for construction defects in a condominium tower
  • $1.148 million arbitration award against a developer for failure to properly perform grading and drainage in a neighborhood
  • Take-nothing verdict in favor of an insurance provider in a claim for professional negligence, as well as recovery of attorney’s fees expended by defendant during trial
  • Take-nothing verdict in favor of a general contractor on a construction defect claim, and award of payment for work performed pursuant to counter-claim against the owner
