Bonds Ellis Eppich Schafer Jones LLP is pleased to welcome veteran transactional attorney Kari Deckard.  In joining the firm as a partner, Kari adds breadth and depth to the corporate/transactional and employment law practice areas, strengthening the firm’s ability to assist growing businesses and other corporate clients in Texas and Oklahoma.

Kari’s diverse experiences, gained over a legal career of fourteen years, have included advising public and private companies, small and mid-sized businesses and non-profit organizations in complex transactions as well as on all aspects of the intersection of employment law and day-to-day business affairs. Her corporate transactional practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, negotiating and drafting all types of commercial contracts, designing and remaking business entity structures, corporate governance, risk management, protecting intellectual property, and alternative resolution of business disputes. Kari’s employment practice focuses on educating, training and counseling clients on litigation avoidance strategies and compliance with state and federal laws and regulations affecting the workplace. Her employment expertise includes employment and post-employment agreements, non-competition and confidentiality agreements, employee discipline and terminations, internal investigations, employee handbook and policy development, employee leave and disability, and defense of claims before administrative and regulatory agencies and in arbitration and mediation.

Kari began her legal career in the Houston office of the international law firm Jones Day. After the large firm experience, she spent 11 years with a small but sophisticated firm in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she learned about providing agile and innovative legal service to clients.

She earned her J.D. from the University of Tulsa College of Law and received her B.S.B.A. in International Business from Oklahoma State University.
