Bonds Ellis Eppich Schafer Jones LLP is pleased to welcome veteran bankruptcy and business litigation attorney Jermaine Watson. In joining the firm as a partner, Jermaine adds breadth and depth to the bankruptcy/reorganization, business litigation, and employment law practice areas, strengthening the firm’s ability to assist distressed businesses, creditors, financial institutions, corporations, distressed investors, and federal employees in Fort Worth, Dallas and throughout Texas.
Jermaine’s diverse experience, gained over a legal career of more than fourteen years, includes in-court and out-of-court corporate bankruptcy restructurings, representing trustees and liquidating trustees, and creditors in bankruptcy proceedings and bankruptcy related litigation throughout Texas, the Western District of Arkansas, Northern District of Ohio, Delaware, and the Southern District of New York. Jermaine has experience representing companies across various industries including energy, healthcare, construction, transportation, e-commerce, and financial services. Jermaine also represents businesses in litigation before Texas state courts and in arbitration proceedings. Jermaine also represents federal employees in labor and employment disputes against federal agencies before the Merit Systems Protection Board and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
Jermaine began his legal career as a law clerk for Chief Bankruptcy Judge, Kathy A. Surratt-States, of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Missouri in St. Louis, Missouri. Jermaine later moved to Texas and joined the Dallas office of a large Texas-based law firm, where he advised clients on corporate restructuring, bankruptcy, and creditors’ rights for nearly 5 years before later founding his own law firm in Dallas, Texas.
He earned his J.D. and M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and received his B.A. in History from Elon University in North Carolina.
